By trade, I've been a pediatric occupational therapist since December 1993. I am also a trained Bowen NST (neurostructual integration technique) therapist since June 2006. I am NOT Barbie, nor do I really want to hang with the type. I dress in what ever is comfortable, usually purchased at the thrift stores. Some people see this way of dressing as artfully poor taste and/or that my choice of clothes worn makes ME unattractive; I say, these people haven't bothered to see ME yet, just my clothes. Although not 'too granola-ish', I do see that radical changes must be made for the earth to survive man in his current form. I love GREEN living, but also enjoy comfort. I consider myself to be growing and learning along a naturalistic and spiritual path with a healthy lifestyle. I love to grow things and to garden. I love to climb and dance with trees, dance in general (even in the aisles of stores if the mood and/or music strike me), doing other outdoor things not already mentioned, ie walking, hiking, camping, reading in a hammock, playing with the fairies, roller blading, playing games and/or making patterns in the grass when I mow, etc. I love to sing, but nobody really likes to hear how I cannot carry a tune (I don't even know that I'm out of tune). lol. I am an artsy-craftsy gal, in many mediums from glue to paint to power tool use. I can be loud or quiet (pending the circumstances). I'm more of a 1:1 or small group type vs large groups, but love big events, ie Procession of the Species parade, etc. I'm kind hearted, but often tease in a playful manner.
I am a native of Michigan (USA), followed my former fiancee out to Washington state July 2003 from Georgia (lived in GA for 12+ years). On Friday, July 13th, 2007 at 1300 hours, I moved to the Melbourne area, Australia. I'm living with a wonderful and generous friend as I am still not able to work due to visa regulations. I've needed to make 2 trips out of the country (visa regs again), thus I went to the beautiful southern island of New Zealand, but to Christchurch. It would've been great to stay and see real parts of the country, but, alas… the ole 'no money game' came into play. I came here to Oz (that's Aussie for Australia) for 2 reasons. 1) I loved it here during my trip which occurred Dec '06 for further study in Bowen therapy and to visit the land which I had literally dreamed of since a small child. 2) It was the farthest I could get from, thus the most difficult for me to return to, another member on this site that I am still stupidly and deeply in love with that I have UNintentionally hurt and angered once again by telling MY truth. I hope some day he can find it in his heart to forgive me and add me back into his life somehow and also back onto his Gaia friend list.
I am very open and friendly to most all walks of life (not with harmful crimimals, druggies, or abusers), including people's sexual preferance and/or orientation. I do, however, have difficulty tolerating being around smokers or zealous religious people that like to shove their beliefs down others throats though.
